I love Ramadan, and am very excited for it. Of course, the feeling of being in such a holy month is wonderful, but theres more to it, or maybe because of it. My familys usually makes an effort to be in a better mood, and since there isn't that strong of a Muslim community here, the few Muslims that I do see at school and around are alway cheerful, say "salam alaikum", chat for a while, etc.. It makes you feel like a part of such a large community, and even a lot of non-Muslims are interested in at least hearing about it and respecting it, if not trying it out themselves.

I'm excited to get up early and make my hubby some breakfast but I'm pregnant and i get such bad dizzy spells so i dont think that I'll get to fast this year. last year the first day of Ramadan we had to order pizza to break our fast cuz we dont have a lot of family to cook us all that yummy food

Salam.

Yes, of course I'm so looking forward to Ramadhan this year. For us Muslims, it's a special time to become closer to God, and of course, to enjoy the foods we don't get to have any other time. However, the food's not the main focus for me. I love that during Ramadhan, we are closer to our fellow Muslims in the community, and get together so much. I also love that when you're fasting, it cleanses you spiritually. Maybe you should become a Muslim, since you already have a lot of Muslim friends. Ramadhan Mubarak.

lolz so u like the food....well i am certainly excited abt Ramadan. its like as a family we get to spend more time with each other specially at the breaking of fast. in teh afternoon when i get back from college, i help my mom prepare food for the iftaar, and when teh time of iftaar (breaking of fast) my dad comes home, everyone sits around teh table. we recite the short prayer b4 the eating and then we eat! and eat till we are full....then we perform the maghreb prayer together....

despite having a bz life, we get to spend extra time with each other during this month.....

Not really. Last year I was dating a Muslim during Ramadan. I would not recommend it. Some people get really angry when they can't eat!

I love those Ramadan noodles. You can pick them up dirt cheap in the stores. Doesn't take any skill to cook. Throw in some mixed veggies and a can of chicken you have a nice quick soup.
