Question:
Is ear stretching aloud in islam?

I understand that in the Muslim religion, women are aloud to have ear piercings... This is technically the same thing but obviously the size of the piercing is bigger so it can fit larger jewellery. It is a body modification but so is regular ear piercing.

Please no ignorant answers about how gross or ugly ear stretching is.
Thank you to those who are actually trying to help.

I've not ever come across a question like this before lol

but hopefully i can help you in some way :)

I personally think ear stretching isnt allowed in islam purely because you are in a way altering Allah's creation; Allah made you how you are and then you suddenly decide you want to adopt the method of ear stretching so in a way you are changing the way your ears look and ear stretching.. well i dont know much about it but living here in the UK; i have seen A LOT of people who have had this done and i dont know; what if you regret having it done in the long term? :S

Think more about it; but if it was me i wouldnt do it because you are potentially changing your physical appearance which Allah tells us is haram to do

Salam Alaikum.

Salam Really ear piercing is allowed in Islam for women only started from Sarah the wife of Ibrahim prophet You can pierce your ear bigger than usually done so it can fit larger jewellery, but do not so big because you ear will be destructed Ear streching is allowed in Islam as long as it does not danger your own health.and do not showing your pride and conceit.

agree with Kells...

there is a good answer here

also check out this

http://www.islam-qa.com/en/search/nose%20piercing/AllWords/t,q,a

but the nose piecing is a difference of opinion.

"If women in a country regard putting jewellery in the nose as a kind of adornment and beautification, there is nothing wrong with piercing the nose in order to put jewellery in it."

Majmoo‘ Fataawa wa Rasaa’il Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 11/92

and you have to remember that when you are doing something for adornment/beautification then you need to cover that up when u r around non-mehrams... so if u have a nose piercing then a face veil should be used.

and Allah knows best.

It is haraam, It does not say that it is haraam because obviously there was no such thing as ear stretching 1400 years ago. But, it does say that you can't disfigure your body or change the body that allah has given you. That is kind of like disfiguring/changing, because if you go larger it's permanent.

If you want a small one, it will heal up, so its up to you.

even nonetheless i'm gay, I surely think of chicks with gauges are undesirable ***. After an inch, i think of that's unattractive and staring on the guy you prefer, they are going to too. 5/8ths is a reasonably stable length. 3/4s is only as stable, practically the comparable length, yet do no longer flow from 5/8th to an inch a minimum of.

Frankly :$ I don't know if it's haram or not, but it does sound rather painful, and remember that self inflicting pain is haram and you don't want your ears testifying against you on the Day of Judgement.. !

If the Quran says it is haraam, it is haraam. But since the Quran says no such thing it cannot be haraam.

Also, one of the users stated that changing one's body is haraam since it is changing what God created. How would you justify circumcision then? I'm sure that it even worse mutilation than just an ear stretch?

peace.

Changing ones body part is haram. You cannot change or alter Allah's creation.

It depends. If you stretch it too much then every sound you hear will sound a-loud. Much the same as an elephant where every sound he ears is a-loud.

It doesn't seem that ear stretching is a correct thing in Islam.

It's kinda like going into the extremes and it really doesn't beautify someone. It's just a weird fashion and it's more like related to showing off rather than adorning oneself.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Piercing is enough. Ear stretching is something extreme.
