I've been reading the Qu'ran over the past week, and I gotta say.. it's not what I thought it to be.. interesting stuff, but that doesn't mean I will convert because there are still questions I'd like to be answered.

Before I answer any question, I just wanted to say that I don't think that having someone answer your questions is a sufficient reason to converting to any religion. You should choose the religion that you feel is the truth and that you believe is the best way, for you, to submit to God.



Why does Islam allow apostasy?

-The Qu'ran encourages people to think critically about the world around them, about their beliefs and their lifestyles and to evaluate the facts and evidence available. If this leads to one choosing to leave their religion or other beliefs/ways, then this is simply a result of their choice to become critical thinkers. Islam does not force or encourage people to leave their religion simply because. It encourages them to listen, think critically, and choose their own path.



Why did Mohammad hit Aishea on her stomach?

-I only follow the word of God. God does not directly address himself in the hadiths nor does the hadiths come from Him. Therefore, I do not follow them. So as there is nothing in the Qu'ran even suggesting that Prophet Mohamed or any other Prophet lay their hand on their wives, I can't say if this has ever happened.



Does the Qu'ran (words of Allah) support stoning?

-No.

The Quran has many interpretations, somethings change with time such as laws for instance to best fit the current world, for example Omar bin al khattab stopped cutting thieves' hands because of extreme poverty. But the religions' basis stays the same.

A word of advice, if your looking into Islam I suggest buying some books, I'm sure you'll find some, the problem with the Internet is you get some very conservative people. I'm sure you must already know what I mean.



One final little thing, the Quran and Islam is what it means to you as an individual. There are many schools of thought in islam, each is an interpretation. No one can say you are wrong.

Islam supports stoning, for those who commit adultery and cheat on their husband or wife. Don't get shocked by this, and think Islam is strict and violent. In places like Texas they have death penalties and people don't accuse them of being violent.

If Christians claim they believe in the 1 true God, then why do they worship 3? Father, son, and holy ghost?



Father=1 God, son=1 God, and holy ghost=1 God. So ask a child to add them all together and that gives you 3 different God's. I think this simple calculation has just exposed the whole of Chrisitanity. Try and answer the question. And don't give a answer like "oh they all add up to 1 God" cos that doesn't make sense." If you wrote that in a exam you wouldn't get any marks.

if the apostate leaves islam peacefully and quietly without hurting muslims or abusing islam, the apostate would be left alone to his beliefs

if the apostates start hurting muslims and islam after leaving it, by fighting and killing them or by banning the performance of any of the pillars of islam, they should be fought back and killed..

b) the prophet never hit Aysha on her stomach, she said so herself, he only pushed on her chest to let her fears and suspicions (the influence of satan) fade away, read the whole story with the proper context.. The prophet pbuh did that to many of his companions.



c) there's no mention in the Quran of stoning, but there are many stories in the hadiths and early practices of the prophet. This punishment applies on the adulterers.

Another thing you guys mention is about our Prophet Mohamed being a pedo- Again, you guys believe what every you want to believe- people in ancient timeused to grow much quicker- they were strong- and they used to fight with lion in cages etc ( they were big- (do some Research) ). Girls used to develop much quicker- also in ancient time it was part of their tradition for a girl to marry quick so she would bring fortune to her family- during those time marrying someone younger thn you was very common. it was something that was seen as something natural- whereas gay was not practiced and gay was forbidden- whereas now gay is accepted by society- is how society wants to see things their own way- maybe in future they will allow bestiality/ incest . There was weird things in religion both in islam, Christianity and Judaism- I'm a muslim but I like all religion as long as they don't threaten someones life-

Quran have not a single verse what says apostasy penalty is death but this is mentioned in Haddith (*though many haddith are not true) because God's previous law Torah have a similar commandment. During the life times of Prophet(Pbuh), few Pagans (of Mecca) converted to Islam only for do something against of Islam or try to killing our Prophet(Pbuh) and later they changed their religion. This made a problem for Muslims. So Prophet (Pbuh) commanded that apostasy penalty is death according to Torah because it was a necessary law to solve that problem.

No. Quran have not a single verse what says about the stoning. Adultery is a shameful deed, this is mentioned in Quran. Adultery penalty is not mentioned in Quran.

***Steal penalty is mentioned in Quran but that is not stoning.
