The computer is running simulations as part of the game, the computer has been programmed to run simulations until it finds a way to win a nuclear war.
I don't remember all the plot line, but it ends up at the end, everyone is very scared because they think the computer is going to launch nuclear weapons and it has locked out the human control over rides. They bring the kid to an underground command center to try to see if he can find a way to stop this computer. They end up playing the game and it looks like the computer is really launching weapons, but it is scenario and you see on their simulation map, nuclear missles flying out from all the nuclear nations hiting targets all over the world.
The computer finally ends the simulations by saying, there is no way to win a nuclear war, everyone loses.
Recently, I have also been playing the game Risk against the computer. Risk is a role-playing conventional war game. You roll dice actually for the battles, you have to roll higher dice than the opponent for your army to beat his and march your troops into his territory. There are 5 military forces, the one who conquers the whole map against the other 4 is the winner.
Last night I was thinking about the prophecies and the potential for a global war. I thought, one rule of the war that everyone has to follow (including Dajjal) is no nuclear weapons. If anyone launches nukes, everyone launches nukes, and the game is over. God ends the game and Dajjal does not get the 2/3 souls that are promised to go to hell.
So, everyone has to follow the script of the game that God has already written. When 1/3 of the world's souls are firm true believers, that is God's quota and the game can end then -- the volcano explodes like a celebration of the end of the game. (By coincidence, there is another computer game I play, where if you reach the goal, a volcano explodes.)
So last night, while I was thinking over difficult and stressful things in my life right now, I was able to calm myself (for once) by telling myself, "this is just a game, just play the game until the end of the game, you know the basic script of the game, you know the eventual outcome."
As Muslims, we all know the basic script and eventual outcome (if we study and piece together the prophecies from Islam and the other religions). But we still have to play through this game to its scripted end. The game ends with Iblis getting 2/3 of the souls to torture, Allah getting 1/3 to take to heaven to reward.
