I noticed that one of my friends on facebook joined a group called "Oh Allah, forgive me". I even checked out the group to see if it was making fun of Islam. it was a regular Islamic facebook group. now, this completley blew me away. his religious views says "spiritual" but underneath his favorite books, at the end he wrote "the good book-The Bible". I'm completley confused about this guy now. I wanted to ask him if he's Muslim, but he might think I'm weird for asking that since we don't really talk to each other. this was just so shocking to me that he would join that group.

I would think they were interested in learning more about Islam or maybe he is a Unitarian christian who also recognizes Allah is just another way of saying God.

to call your self something different than a MUSLIM, is straight away against the training of the Quran. on the instant, Muslims proudly call themselves a sunni, shia, maliki, shaffi, ehl-e-hadees etc. it somewhat is what divides the religion into sects. all of them say they're nonetheless muslims yet they belong to a particular college of concept...or in basic words, a member of a sect. shall we see what Allah has to assert approximately this: Surah Al-Imran (3:103) “carry quickly, all of you, to the twine of Allah and be no longer divided…” Surah Al-Anam (6:159) “truthfully, people who've made divisions of their deen and grew to become into factions, you haven't any longer something to do with them. Their case rests with Allah on my own, then he will tell them what they have been doing.” Who replaced into the prophet? Did he belong to a sect? replaced into he a sunni? No..he replaced into purely a MUSLIM. interior the 6:159 above, Allah (swt) has somewhat addressed the Prophet (pbuh) by using ordering him that he has no connection or relation by any potential with all of us who identifies him or herself as a faction of the deen that Allah has ordained for Muslims. It must be spoke of here that this deen or judgment isn't something however the Quran itself. This deen comes from the Quran on my own and not by using the different resource. We further examine in Surah As-Sajdah (40-one:33) “Who may well be greater advantageous in words than the only which calls in the direction of Allah, and acts righteously and says, i'm a Muslim” This verse needless to say says that the righteous are people who call themselves a MUSLIM or are between the MUSLIMEEN. no longer sunni, shia, shafi, maliki and Allah knows what else. The sunnah of the prophet is interior the Quran. The hadith books supply contradictory narrations on the subject of the prophet and in my opinion, at the instant are not stable. enable us to all save on with the Quran.

I am a Christian, and if i say "Allah help me" It does not make me a Muslim cause Allah is the same as God.

I only used the name Allah instead of God.

Give you an Example: My name is MaryFlor, Others call me Mary, others call me Flor and others even call me Flora. If one of my friend call me Mary and the other call me Flora, are they referring to a different person?

No. they are referring to one person that is me.

God bless!!!!

Salam. You should be aware that we could not assume someone who claimed him/herself as muslim if just only he/she joins a group called "Oh Allah forgive me".You know that someone who joined it was only making fun of Islam.He/she is not the real muslim.He/she maybe a christian who tries hard to mislead the real muslim through the facebook.

well you might have forgotton that christians and jews in the middle east that speak arabic. in their bibles and torahs the word for God is Allah.. so there are christians and jews that pray to Allah also. Ask any christian from Lebanon what their name for God is.. they will say Allah..

He might've just joined for fun. But don't be afraid to ask him if he's Muslim, you can say something like "Hey, I was just wondering, are you Muslim?" or something like that.
