Because they only hear the distorted view that the media presents. I am a British convert to Islam and I found real Islam by mistake, I was not expecting it. Now I am a believer in Islam and pray 5x a day, avoid pork and haram meat, don't drink and go to Mosque on Fridays instead of to a nightclub.
