Arabic is a great language and Arabs were great knights with high morals.

Arabs are kind of people that if wanted good; they can be better than angels; and when they want bad; they can be worst that demons.

Arabs were the worst nations in the era of the prophet; that's why Allah reveled the revelation in ARabic:

"Lo! We have revealed it, a Lecture in Arabic, that ye may understand. انا انزلناه قرانا عربيا لعلكم تعقلون "

"Thus we have revealed it as a Lecture in Arabic, and have displayed therein certain threats, that peradventure they may keep from evil or that it may cause them to take heed. وكذلك انزلناه قرانا عربيا وصرفنا فيه من الوعيد لعلهم يتقون او يحدث لهم ذكرا"

"and this is a confirming Scripture in the Arabic language, that it may warn those who do wrong and bring good tidings for the righteous. وهذا كتاب مصدق لسانا عربيا لينذر الذين ظلموا وبشرى للمحسنين "

Quran in Arabic was not a reward. It was a duty.

God selected Arabic as far as I know because it is the best language for the Quran and shows the miracle of the Quran. Arabic is also the native language of angels and is the language that people use in paradise. I don't remember the hadith that mention this but I know this info.

[14:4] We did not send any messenger except (to preach) in the tongue of his people, in order to clarify things for them. GOD then sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. He is the Almighty, the Most Wise.

[16:103] We are fully aware that they say, "A human being is teaching him!" The tongue of the source they hint at is non-Arabic, and this is a perfect Arabic tongue

[19:97] We thus made this (Quran) elucidated in your tongue, in order to deliver good news to the righteous, and to warn with it the opponents.

20:113] We thus revealed it, an Arabic Quran, and we cited in it all kinds of prophecies, that they may be saved, or it may cause them to take heed.

[26:195] In a perfect Arabic tongue.

[26:196] It has been prophesied in the books of previous generations.

[26:197] Is it not a sufficient sign for them that it was known to the scholars among the Children of Israel?

[26:198] If we revealed this to people who do not know Arabic.

[26:199] And had him recite it (in Arabic), they could not possibly believe in it.

[26:200] We thus render it (like a foreign language) in the hearts of the guilty.

[39:28] An Arabic Quran, without any ambiguity, that they may be righteous.

[39:29] GOD cites the example of a man who deals with disputing partners (Hadith), compared to a man who deals with only one consistent source (Quran). Are they the same? Praise be to GOD; most of them do not know.

Hadith: A Gross Blasphemy

[39:30] You (Muhammad) will surely die, just like they will die.

[39:31] On the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, you people will feud with one another.

[39:32] Who is more evil than one who attributes lies to GOD, while disbelieving in the truth that has come to him? Is Hell not a just requital for the disbelievers?

[41:44] If we made it a non-Arabic Quran they would have said, "Why did it come down in that language?" Whether it is Arabic or non-Arabic, say, "For those who believe, it is a guide and healing. As for those who disbelieve, they will be deaf and blind to it, as if they are being addressed from faraway."

[42:7] We thus reveal to you an Arabic Quran to warn the central community and all around it, and to warn about the Day of Summoning that is inevitable. Some will end up in Heaven, and some in Hell.

[43:3] We have rendered it an Arabic Quran, that you may understand.

We learn from 41:44 that the sincere believers have access to the Quran, regardless of their mother tongue. The disbelievers, on the other hand, are not permitted access to the Quran, even if they are professors of the Arabic language (17:45, 18:57, 41:44, & 56:79).

Arabic is the most efficient language in the world, especially when it comes to the precise statement of laws. Since the Quran is a Statute Book, it was crucial that such laws must be clearly stated. God chose Arabic for His Final Testament because of the obvious reason that it is the most suitable language for that purpose. Arabic is unique in its efficiency and accuracy. For example, the word "they" in English does not tell you if "they" are males or females. In Arabic there is a "they" for the males, "HUM," and a "they" for the females, "HUNNA." For two females, instead of "these" or "those" there is "HAATAAN" and for the two males "HAATHAN." This feature does not exist in any other language in the world. I came to appreciate this efficiency of the Arabic language when I translated, for example, 2:228.

This verse enjoins the divorcee to give up her own wishes to divorce her husband, if she discovers that she is pregnant, and the husband wishes to reconcile - the welfare of the child takes a priority. The efficiency of the Arabic language was extremely helpful in stating this law. Any other language would have made it almost impossible to point out whose wishes are to be superseded, at least not in such a few words as we see in 2:228.

The word "Qaalataa" of 28:23, for example, translates into four English words: "the two women said." Such is the efficiency of the Arabic language.

Another possible reason for choosing Arabic is the fact that "He" and "She" do not necessarily imply natural gender. Thus, when God is referred to as "He," this does not imply gender at all. God be glorified; He is neither male, nor female. The usage of "He" to refer to God in the English language, for example, has contributed to a false image of God. This was not helped by such distorted expressions as "Father" when referring to God. You never find such a reference to

God in the Quran.

This is by no means my personal opinion; this is God's assertion and promise in the sura entitled "Muhammad" (47:38). God has warned the Arabs that if they turn away, He will dismiss them from His grace, and substitute better people in their place. There is no question that the Arabs have abandoned the Quran in favor of Satan's Hadith & Sunna.

The Quran specifically prophesies that the Arabs, specifically, have abandoned the Quran (25:30).

Because Arabs were MOST ignorant and still are.

It is still very hard for them to understand.

Imagine Quran in another language, they will completely freak out.

Aboo Bakr Ibn Abee Shaybah said: ’Eesa Ibn Yoonus told us from Thawr from ’Umar Ibn Yazeed that ’Umar wrote to Aboo Moosa al-Ash’aree (radiyallaahu ’anhu) and said: “Learn the Sunnah and learn Arabic; learn the Qur‘aan in Arabic for it is Arabic.?

The following are a few statements of the Salaf and Scholars of the present encouraging the learning of the Arabic language

Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) said:

The Salaf would admonish their children for making Arabic grammatical mistakes. Due to this, we are ordered, whether it be an obligation or a recommendation, to preserve the Arabic (grammatical) laws, and to correct the tongues that have deviated from the correct speech. By doing so, we preserve the methodology of understanding the Quran and the Sunnah. We also preserve the following of the Arab in their manner of (correct) speech. If people were left with their grammatical mistakes, this would be considered a great deficiency and despicable mistake.

Shiekh ul Islam (rahimahullah) also mentioned a statement of Imam Ash Shafi'ee (rahimahullah), he said:

...this is because the (language) that Allah choose is Arabic. He revealed His glorious book (The Quran) in this language and He made it the tongue of His final and last prophet, Muhammed -sallahu alahi wa salem. Therefore, we say: it is befitting for everyone that has the ability to learn this language to do so, this is because it should be the most desired language to learn. At the same time, it is not forbidden for people to speak with other than the Arabic language.

(source: Iktidah As Siralt Al Mustaqeem 1/521)

Imam Adh Dhahabee (rahimahullah) mentioned:

That which a scholar needs to be is:

-Taqiyan (have taqwah)

-Thakiyah (have intelligence)

-Nahwiyan (firm in Arabic grammar)

-Lugawiyan (firm in Arabic language)

-Zakiyan (pure in action and/or intentions)

-Hayiyan (shy)

-Salafiyan (follow the way of the Salaf As Saleh)....

(source: Siyar 'Alam An Nubalah 13/380)

Imam Adh Dhahabee (rahimahullah) also mentioned the following story:

On the authority of Al Mughirah bin Abdur Rahman, he said: Abdul Azeez Ad Darawirdee accompanied a group of people to visit my father for the purpose of reading a book to him. Ad Darawirdee read the book for them but he possessed a poor (Arabic) tongue and made many despicable mistakes. My father said to him: Woe be to you oh Darawirdee! You are in need of correcting your tongue before looking into this affair (hadeeth), more so than anything else.

(source: Siyar 'Alam An Nubalah 8/368)

Shiekh Hammad Al Ansari (rahimahullah) said:

When a Muwahid (person implementing Tawheed) makes a mistake in Arabic grammar, he is accused of not understanding (his religion).

The Shiekh's son commented:

Meaning: It is befitting for a person upon the Sunnah to learn the sciences of the Arabic language in order not to make grammatical mistakes.

(source: Al Mejm'oo 2/557)

Sheikh Muhammed bin Saleh Al Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said:

From the benefits of learning the Arabic language is correction of the tongue with the Arabic tongue which the speech of Allah was revealed in. Because of this, understanding the Arabic language is extremely important. But the sciences of the Arabic language are difficult in the beginning and become easy thereafter. It is the example of a house made of cane (the likes of sugar cane), but its door is made of steel. Meaning, it is difficult for one to enter, but once one does, is then made easy. Due to this, I encourage the student to learn the foundations of the language in order to make the rest easy for him/her.

(source: Sharh Al Ajromiyah pg.9)

The first speech of Ibn Taymiyyah reminds us of the statement of Umm Abdellah Al Wadie'yah concerning her father, the beloved Sheikh Muqbil bin Hadee Al Wadi'ee.

She wrote:

My father would admonish us (her and her older sister) if we made a mistake in Arabic grammar. He would say: Don't be like the people of Sa'daa, they learn Arabic for several years until they reach the level of 'Al Mugnee al Labeeb' (famous book in Arabic grammar), yet they continue to speak similar to the normal layman.

(source: Nubtha Muktesirah pg.52)

Sheikh Muqbil (rahimahullah) also mentioned:

The sciences of the Arabic language (nahoo) are from the important forms of knowledge that are incumbent upon the Muslims to focus on. This is because the enemies of Islam seek to divert the Muslims away from the language of their religion and busy them with what has less importance in their religion. And Allah is the Helper.

(source: Ershad Thawil Fitan pg.65)

He likewise said:

If a student becomes strong in the Arabic language, this will make learning other subjects easy for him.
