i think it is because of many reasons.......

wastes ibaadah time in the month of ramadan in which good deeds are doubled and sins are doubled if committed.

ramadan gets us closer to Allah while if u play video games u are losing this.

video game will give u no benefit and even if it does its still haram. in some laws of Allah there are some things which are haram but have some benefit but still is haram because Allah decreed that and since we all know that Allah wants good for us and knows best for us so basically its not permissible to play video games games in ramadan.

even out of ramadan its haram.

btw these people who say no its not haram are themselves visiting the salafi site islamqa.com which they call extremists

Video games and TV isn't explicitly forbidden during Ramadan. (Can you imagine how that would have sounded before they were invented?) However, Ramadan is a time to draw nearer to Allah (swt) and unless you are playing a game that teaches you about Islam or you are watching a TV program that helps you remember Allah (swt) and become a better Muslim (fat chance!), you are not doing that. Ramadan is an immense blessing. Don't waste it on some nonsense you can do at an other time of the year. Remember, there are things that will harm your soul, things that would benefit your soul, and things that neither harm nor benefit you. Don't wast your time!

No, it is not.

One more note, if you are a practicing muslim and you spend too much time playing video games during Ramadan and missing prayers or going off the track or whatever, you are going to hear "haram" a thousand times from your family members and whoever is around you.

Although it's not haram, but it's really insane to waste any moment during Ramadan, as we don't know on which moment Allah will grant us his mercy upon us during our devoted worshiping during Ramadan

Only if you're a Wahabi extremist. 'NO VEEDEYO!'

Seriously...it's not haram, relax, and stop trying to complicate a simple religion.

Anyway, too much of ANYTHING is unhealthy. You'll turn into a zombie if you keep pressing your nose against the screen.

yes you can play if you thought you have enough prayers for ramadan.
