Gene Modification, or Selective Breeding?
Do you think it's right to mix up natural genes in animals and plants?
Or it's perfectly fine for Scientists to carry out this procedure for farmer's benefits?
(Baring in mind that it will be carried out to make the best possible product for earning more money.)

And is there an Islamic view on this?

Any views will be helpful :)

as long as it is benefiting the mankind, no matter if is done to bring more money with less cost, i dont think that there is anything wrong with such researches. the end result should be beneficial.

i am against animal testing for beauty products or any such products. but experimenting medicines is for the betterment of humankind so that can be allowed.

I don't know about the Islamic point of view but genetic engineering has many benefits if done correctly, not just financially for the farmer.

E.g Growing medicines in tobacco plants instead of nicotine...that was a good one!

It's like immunizing a plant to a specific virus, it's better than using expensive pesticides that harm you and the planet. And, I'm sure a transgenic plant is safer for you than a slice of pizza from your local pizzeria, which has countless ingredients that have been synthesized in a lab.

This sounds like neo-genics ! you know the Nazi thing !. Being a Muslim we should seek to uphold the fair creation of Allah and not to alter it in some freak experiments to satisfy either our ego or bank account at the expense of human health or life
