Question:
Why aren't Sunni allowed to stand up for justice if the ruler is a TYRANT?
2008-09-24 10:02:44 UTC
When the Qur'an is very clear about this subject? Why do i feel that the Sunni do not even read the Holy Qur'an, and to busy reading fabricated hadith from Bukhari and Sahih Muslim?

Allah clearly says in the Qur'an:

Verily, Allah commands you to give over the trusts to those entitled to them, and that, when you judge between men, you judge with justice. And surely, excellent is that with which Allah admonishes you. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. 4:58

O ye who believe! Be strict in observing justice, and be witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or against your parents or kindred. Whether he, against whom witness is borne, be rich or poor, Allah is more regardful of them both than you are. Therefore follow not your low desires that you may be able to act equitably. And if you hide the truth or evade it, then know that Allah is Well-Aware of what you do. 4:135

O ye who believe! be steadfast in the cause of Allah, bearing witness in equity; and let not a people's enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just. That is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Surely, Allah is Aware of what you do. 5:8

And Allah sets forth another parable of two men - one of them is dumb, having no power over anything, and he is a burden on his master; withersoever he sends him, he brings no good. Can he be equal to him who enjoins justice and who is on the straight path? 16:76

And the word of thy Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice. None can change His words, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. 6:115

So do you really think with your fabricated hadith you can change the word of GOD!!!!?

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; and forbids indecency and manifest evil and transgression. He admonishes you that you may take heed. 16:90

Those wahhabis take the quran literally, or so they say but when it comes to action they're nowhere to be found.

If islam was about growing a beard and wearing a gown, we'd all be doing it.

There's no path to ALLAH without Mohammad, and Ali and the house of rasulallah, saw,

The ones who fought with Imam Ali were people that were praying 5 times a day.

They used the quran on their spears.

"Why aren't Sunni allowed to stand up for justice if the ruler is a TYRANT?"

who told you that you are not allowed????

you are talking without proof !I did not learned all the hadithes ,but can you bring a hadith which says that "MUSLIMS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO STAND UP FOR JUSTICE IF THE RULER WAS TYRANT"???

it sounds ratrher stupid, but i think if a ruler says "go and kill that person!" without knowing why? I think sunnies ARE allowed to stand up against that kind of ruler.

"Why do i feel that the Sunni do not even read the Holy Qur'an, and to busy reading fabricated hadith from Bukhari and Sahih Muslim?"

Why in the hell are you asking us ?? i think it is just coz you are a stupid .

"So do you really think with your fabricated hadith you can change the word of GOD!!!!?"

NO. who said that????

and keep in your mind that if by any chance any hadith we get is against any word of GOD we do not even look at that hadith!!!

@RAFDI:

I am really wondering how stupid you are! the link you gave otherside is true i think whatever is iside there is rubish !COMPLETE RUBISH!

Because Islam is for order not anarchy and revolution as Shia promote." A thousand years of tyranny is better than one day of anarchy" we see this wisdom in Iraq with the anarchy and complete lack of security (the most important thing a govt should ensure) follwoing the US invasion

Sunnis can overthrow a leader who doesnt rule by Islam IF doing so will cause less fitna and bloodshed

We are against needless bloodhsed- you as we see every muharram arent

And confound not truth with falsehood nor hide the truth knowingly.

And remember the time when We delivered you from Pharaoh's people who afflicted you with grievous torment, slaying your sons and sparing your women; and in that was a great trial for you from your Lord.

Thus We made it an example to those of its time and to those who came after it, and a lesson to those who fear God.

I don't know whether your question relates to the present day or the past. But muslims are allowed to stand up for justice if the ruler is a tyrant. Do they stand up in reality? In most cases not. Because they are probably afraid or feel helpless etc. Look at Saddam Hussain. I do not condone at all what the Americans did in Iraq but I hate Saddam Hussain. He ruled for 28 years in Iraq, crushing and torturing people who disagreed with him. Is that Islam.

Al Husein Bin Ali fought the unjust and he was Sunni .

You know all the ahl albayt were sunah , Ali , his sons , the prophets uncles , all of them were sunah , they followed the prophet peace be upon him and didn't create or add anything on the religion .

in the judgment day they will reject those who changed the religion and insulted al sayedah Aisha ( which from alh al bayt too ) and the prophet's companions on their names , exactly like Jesus peace be upon him will reject those who worshiped him and called him God's son .

there's many examples in the history to show your wrong , Omar Bin Abdellazeez may god be pleased with him stood up aginst Al Hajaj , even before he became the Khaleefa , and stood up against his own family to set things right.

you have Salah Aldeen Alayoobi also , before he went forward to free Jerusalem , he fought those he divided the nation and set things right first .

you should read more of the history .

Which hadeeth you are talking about? would you please clarify your point? And what exactly does tyranny have to do with sunnis?!! Both sunnis and shias suffered from tyrant rulers who don't fear allah.

First of all there is only one Qur'an.Shias accuse Sunnis of not understanding the Quran. They do not even give credit to Sahih Bukhari the intellectual and spiritual genius of Bukhara,Central Asia who devoted a good 16 years of his life interpreting and bringing forth the words of the holy Prophet.Who are we to judge who is right and who is wrong. We are merely students who look up to learned professors and researchers for knowledge.People who have spent their entire lives researching on the Qura'an cannot be that ignorant. We have to respect them. Coming to your main question'Why Sunnis do not revolt against their leaders.Have'nt you heard of the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt.I am afraid you have to read the history of Islamic countries.Havent you heard of the great Algerian Revolution?A people's movement that sent shivers into the spines of the French colonial masters? Havent you heard of people like Hasn al-Banna,Syed Qutb of Egypt who openly called for revolt against their corrupted leaders. Havent you heard of Maulana Maudoodi who called for revolt against the British tyrants who colonised the sub-continent during the 19th century? Havent you heard of the great revolts of the Sufi Brotherhood movements of Africa. Havent you heard of Abdul Khader who fought against the French for a good fifteen years? Havent you heard of the the Mahdi of Sudan who fought against British invaders bravely ?Today what do we see in the world.A man called Osama Bin Laden calling to overthrow the bullying oppressive tyrannical regime of Saudi Arabia who collaborate with the West in spite of being aware that the West has been responsible for creating mayhem in the Muslim world. Instead of criticising and finding fault with the Sunnis why dont you just obey the Prophet (may peace be upon him) and act as a member of the Umma .The Prophet clearly said:'Do not divide among yourselves'.You are doing just that. Are you following the Quran correctly. Where does the Quran say that one should mourn for the departed by beating and lashing themselves. This is a pre-islamic tribal custom you have initated into Islam. Most of the things you do is 'bida'.Another tragic thing one notices is that Shias collaborate with the non-muslim for his gains. Today the great civilsation of Iraq is in tatters because of the Iraqi shias collaboration with the United States.During the reign of the Ummayad caliphate the Shias collaborated with the Mongol invader Hulagu to destroy the geat Ummayad civilsation. Even during the crusades against Islam shias collaborated with the invading Europeans helping them in their ignominous adventures into the sacred lands of Islam. Sorry my friend.Sunnis have always revolted and fought against tyrants throughout history. You need to go a little deeper into islamic history and civilisation. Why go far? Look at what is happening in the Pak-Afghanistan border today. Look at how corrupted leaders in pakistan are being targeted and removed. If this is not a revolt what else is it?

Imam Hussain (as) said: O' people , the Messenger of God said : Whoever sees an aggressive tyrant legalizes the forbiddens of God , breeches divine laws , opposes the tradition of the Prophet , oppresses the worshippers of God , but does not concede his opposition to God in word or in deed , surely Allah will place that tyrant ( in the Hell ) where he deserves.

(Maktal Khawarazmi , Vol. 1 , P. 234)

To the Nasabi: This question deserves a STAR. How do you know it is Shia giving thumb up or down are you knower of the unseen now?

This is a perfect question and although Ali M does bash sometimes, there is no bashing in this question, i want to know to why do our Sunni brothers say that?

I see sunni cmplain about thumb downs, and you give most of the thumb down for no reason, just for telling the truth, and what did Shia of Ali say that deserves thumb down he quoted the Quran and hadith from your books, few days ago you were complaining about how can someone give thumb down to the sermon of the Prophet and here you are giving thumb down to verses of the holy Qur'an you are such hypocrites.

What were the Sunni doing when Lebanon was under attack by Israel in 2006? Didn't your Saudi Scholar give Fatwa against supporting Hezbullah during the war. Was that just to. You people are blind to the truth if it hits you in the face.

shaybani Shia indured 30 years of persecution by Sadam, what did the Sunnah do support him, until he decided to attack the Saudis, that is when the cowerds called for Americans to come and stay in the holiest land for Muslims, isn't that why Osama wanted the Saudis kings out?

Shaybani do you call blowing your self up not bloodshed? Shia cry and bleed for Hussain, they do not blow up small children and women that has nothing to do with war, you people are to biased and will never follow the truth.

And by the way these Trolls that have different acounts to thumb up people and down will not effect the truth

We do.

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: "There is no obedience to the created if it means disobedience to the Creator."

[Sahih - Musnad Ahmad].

Its Shia who believe in Taqqaiyah, not main stream Muslims.

@ Rafidhi:

I don't believe in Shia Fairy tales about Karbala. For me, Husain R.A. was going to accept Yazid R.A. as a Caliph but it is Shias who stopped him during the way killed him so they can create problems amongst Muslims.

Kharijities Killed Ali R.A., a sub sect of Shiaism.

So whats next? Wanna debate?

Edit:

Besides Saddam, The Sunni Muslims of Pakistan opposed Musharaf on his every act thats why he has to resign.

Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

But if they accuse thee of falsehood, say, 'Your Lord is the Lord of all-embracing mercy, and His wrath shall not be turned back from the guilty people.' (6:167)

The Prophet Muhammad said: People, beware of injustice, for injustice shall be darkness on the Day of Judgment.

Narrated in Mosnad Ahmad, #5798, and Saheeh Al-Bukhari, #2447.

Prophet also said: On the Day of Judgment, rights will be given to those to whom they are due (and wrongs will be redressed).

Narrated in Saheeh Muslim, #2582, and Mosnad Ahmad, #71

Imam Ali (as) said:

Islam is submission, and submission is certainty, and certainty is the affirmation of the truth, and affirmation of the truth is acknowledgement, and acknowledgement is performance of what is obligatory, and performance of what is obligatory is appropriate action.

Nahjulbalagha (Peak of Elquance) saying of Ali (as)

Imam Hussain (as) said: The Almighty God said : "The believing men and the believing women , they are guardians of each other , enjoin good and forbid evil... "God attaches primary importance to enjoining good and forbidding evil " as a duty for men and women. For he knows that if it were fulfilled all the other duties , easy or hard , will be accomplished. That is because "enjoining good and forbidding evil" is a call for Islam , it regains the rights of the oppressed and opposes tyrants.

(Tohaf-al- Uqoul , P. 237)

And proclaim: 'Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Verily, falsehood is bound to vanish. (17:81)
