"There are accounts of Rasulullah [The Messenger of Allah] (saw) attending the wedding feasts of the People of the Book, visited them when they were ill and offered them gifts. During the visit of the Christians of Najran he spread his robe out for them to sit on. At the Prophet's (saw) recommendation, some of the Muslims exposed to persecution by the pagans of Mecca in the first years of Islam sought shelter with the Christian King Najashi in Ethiopia. The believers who migrated with our Prophet (saas) to Medina, lived together with the Jews in Medina and developed a model that would serve as an example to all later generations. In his treaty agreement he has had written to the Christian Ibn Haris and his co-religionists, our Prophet (saw) says; "the religions, churches, lives, honor and property of all Christians living in the East and West are under the protection of Allah, His Messenger and all believers. Nobody living as a Christian shall be forced to convert to Islam. If any Christian is exposed to murder or injustice, Muslims have an obligation to help him." He then adds; - I seek refuge with Allah from the satan- "Only argue with the people of the Book in the kindest way. And say, 'We have faith in what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to you. Our God and your God are One and we submit to Him'." He read verse 46 of Surat al-'Ankabut.

How will you welcome your christian brothers?

It is nice to read something positive like this!

I appreciate your sentiment. You are trying to say that Christians and Muslims should get along because they both worship a one god. Unfortunately, you overlooked a few things. 1) Most Christians are Trinitarians; they worship the man Jesus as the one god. 2) You are only making concessions in a selfish condescending way. "Christians and Muslims will be united when my faith is proved to be the right one, isn't that lovely?" 3) You are saying that main thing that you have in common with Christians is that you both believe that the world will end soon. How depressing is that? How about we ALL work for a better HERE AND NOW? On this earth? With these people? Not in heaven after everyone dies.

Considering islam is the antithesis of Christianity I doubt it. Jesus not being crucified is the lone testimony of an insane man (not a single witness to any of his convenient revelations). Who would you believe? Hundreds of witnesses or one man? God warned you about the anti-Christ religion: -

Galatians 1 - No Other Gospel

6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

Colossians 2:1-6

I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not met me personally. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this SO THAT NO-ONE MAY DECEIVE YOU BY FINE SOUNDING ARGUMENTS. For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

Yeah, you'll unite with us as long as we feel subjugated under Islamic rule and behave like good little dhimmis.

Quran

009.029

YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Islam always has a way of twisting things, doesn't it? Well, this Christian has every right for not trusting Muslims because I actually have read what your allah has said about us, so many things he said about us.

005.051

YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

Qur'an (5:80) - "You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide."

Qur'an (3:118) - "O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people, they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand."

We have a lot of different cultures and religions where I came from and the standard response was "Shut up and get along!" I believe we can be united, but not as one beliefs or religion, only as friends. But it takes a friend to be a friend and nobodys holding their hand out for fear of it getting cut off... thats the real problem.

Shems: The Qur’an states that Allah deceived people into believing that Jesus had died on the cross. According to the Qur’an, Jesus was able to convert at least some Jews to Islam. But we know from history that Jesus’ early followers became convinced of his death and resurrection.

Hence, the obvious reason that there were no Muslims after Jesus ascended into heaven is that all of Jesus’ followers came to believe that he died on the cross and rose from the dead. And where did they get this idea? According to Islam, the idea that Jesus died on the cross was started by Allah:

That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah”—But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, But so it was made To appear to them, And those who differ Therein are full of doubts, With no (certain) knowledge, But only conjecture to follow, For of a surety They killed him not—Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise.

Even if we allow that Allah’s only goal was to deceive the people who wanted to kill Jesus, it is clear that the disciples also fell for Allah’s deception. So who is responsible for the Christian belief that Jesus died on the cross? If Islam is correct, God started this idea when he decided to trick Jesus’ enemies into thinking that they had killed Jesus.

This leads to even more problems. If the deception of the disciples was unintentional, then we must conclude that God didn’t realize that he was about to start the largest false religion in the world. If it was intentional, then God is in the business of starting false religions. Therefore, the God of Islam is either dreadfully ignorant or maliciously deceptive.

Muhammad’s position also means that Jesus was the greatest failure in the history of the prophets. He spent 33 years preaching (again, he began preaching Islamic theology at birth), yet shortly after his death, the children of Israel were divided into two broad camps. Those who believed his message became Christians, all of whom were guilty of the worst sin imaginable (shirk), while those who rejected his message were guilty of rejecting one of God’s greatest messengers.

Thus, whether people believed in Jesus or rejected him, everyone would ultimately be condemned and cast into the hellfire. It’s strange, then, that Muslims consider Jesus to be one of the greatest prophets ever. It seems that he should have been able to win at least one lasting convert to Islam. But he didn’t.

Further, a true prophet of Islam should have warned his followers not to turn away from Islam by falling for God’s deception. But Jesus never got that message across. Indeed, millions of people from around the world now refuse to accept Islam because they believe that Jesus died on the cross for their sins, a teaching that goes back to a deceptive God and an incompetent Messiah.

Excellent story, but lacks any logic or sense.

Most likely to murder them and the Jews.

@ Think Thanker: The Muslim's love for Christians and Jews is felt so much that it sends chills down their spine.

The just recent Muslim love for the Christians: JERUSALEM (CDN) — Enraged Muslims burned down several Christian-owned homes, surrounded a church and threatened to kill a priest last week in two unrelated incidents in Upper Egypt.

On Saturday in Awlad Khalaf village, 240 miles south of Cairo, local Muslims attacked Coptic Christian Wahib Halim Atteyah, robbed him of 32,000 Saudi Riyals (US$8,530), and bulldozed his home along with the other structures on his property, according to local media. The group then raided six other Coptic-owned homes and burned them to the ground. Most of the stolen items were returned because of efforts of other Muslims in the area, according to Egyptian newspaper Watani.

In a previous incident on Thursday (June 23) in Beni-Ahmed al-Gharbiya village near the town of Minya, 136 miles (220 kilometers) south of Cairo, a group of Salafi Muslims surrounded the Church of St. George and demanded that the parish priest, the Rev. Gorgy Thabet, leave the village or they would kill him and hold Muslim prayers in the church building. Salafis, who form a hard-line Islamic movement with extremist tendencies, pattern their belief and practices on the first three generations of Muslims.

Security police kept the mob from breaking into the church building, then removed the priest from the village. It was not known if there were any injuries in the incident.

Last week’s problem at the St. George church had its roots in an incident that happened there more than two months prior. In March, groups of Muslims protested at the church site after learning the congregation had begun expanding a building on church property. After the Muslims forced the Christians into a “reconciliation meeting” by threatening to attack the church building, the expansion project was abandoned.

The group also demanded that Thabet leave. Church officials refused, but then removed the priest temporarily in an apparent attempt to appease Islamic extremists in the community.

The two attacks last week broke a relative calm that has existed in Egypt since late May, when a group of Muslims surrounded a church in Ain Shams, Cairo and prevented it from being reopened. The week before that, a group of Muslims attacked two church buildings in Cairo, setting one on fire.

At least 12 people were killed and more than 200 were wounded when members of the Salafi movement attacked two churches and surrounding Christian-owned homes and businesses in a poor section of Cairo on May 7. The Salafi Muslims set fire to one of the two church buildings, leaving most of it gutted.

The arson attack on the Virgin Mary Church in Imbaba was one of many recent assaults on Coptic Christians by members of the Salafist movement. The mob first attacked St. Mina Church in Imbaba on May 7 after a rumor spread that a Coptic woman who allegedly converted to Islam was being held in the church against her will. Clergy members of St. Mina allowed a group of Islamic imams into the church building to search for the woman, and the imams declared to the gathering Muslims that the woman wasn’t in the building, according to witnesses at the scene.

I bet Mohamamd would be proud of his people as he knows he taught them well.

Christians will never unite with muslims - end of story. Evolution carries us forwards not in reverse. You can welcome Christians as you wish - it will not be reciprocated.

That is totally false as there is no word in the Quran that can be translated "Christians" but Muslims miss the Message and falsely and maliciously insert Christians for helpers and wickedly try to give credibility to christianity when Christianity is polytheism and blasphemy.

I welcome your posting. But they , people of the book, they don't like us becouse of this:

JESUS WAS NOT CRUCIFIED

Quran 4:156-159

"That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them."
