For people who fast during ramadan?

Question

My friend is trying to fast during ramadan but is struggling,She is also struggling to do the part of not speaking bad things (shes not being nasty just a bit of a gossip [don't judge her please]) I was thinking that i could take part in it, Like do it with her. I am a Christian, would it be offensive to you and your religion if i took part of it as a moral support over a religious one?

Awww such a beautiful friend! No it would not be offensive if you fasted, it would be great! You can reap all the rewards and benefits that fasting brings along with helping your friend with her fasting

I'm an atheist, married to a Muslim, and with Muslim kids. My husband and the two older kids are fasting. I try not to eat in front of them, and help to prepare iftar (the meal with which they break their fasts). I think it's good for them. It takes a lot of discipline, and they all lose weight, every year, during Ramadan. They have some extra weight to lose, they're not starting out overly thin from the beginning, and won't be when it's over. I would consider fasting, too, but I can't because I'm diabetic and just can't go 14 hours without eating. Islam forbids fasting for people whom would be adversely affected by it (sick, diabetic, etc.).

No not offensive at all. You can fast with her for moral support. What a really sweet friend you must be to care so much about her and for her faith. Very refreshing to hear a nice question from a genuine friend.

That's pretty cool. That you would do that. Surprisingly though, i actually have a few non-muslim friends who do the same. Fasting has so many benefits...i can completely understand why.



Would you just be fasting, or will you also try to abstain from say...swearing etc.

then tell her this struggle done for Allah's pleasure, to attain Allah's pleasure and hope of reward from Allah alone, with this intention, who knows Allah will fill her stomach on the Day of Judgement, Insha'Allah ameen.



maybe tell her to listen to Quran more and tell her to make dua to Allah to help her.



and i think u shud fast these remaining days of Ramadan according to Islamic views. and if u feel like breaking fast or think its too much then still dont have any drink or food till sunset, and when at sunset, before breaking the fast, just few mins before it make dua (supplication, prayer) to Allah (only Allah is God)

Jesus (peace be upon him) is second last Prophet and Messenger of Allah.

Allah has no wife no son, He is independent and free of ALL wants and ALL needs.



so i wud as a Muslim ask you to supplicate to Allah everyday at this time. and if u want say Ameen.



Make the dua such that to guide to u the Right Path.

Is she struggling because of her school or any other family problems.



Holy Ramadhan or fasting does not make people struggling it is joy for most of the people who fast. If she is sick, she should not fast.



Thanks for helping your friend, try to understand why she is struggling, obviously it is not for fasting.
