Salam Yes it is haram to have an eye contact with non mahram opposite gender intentionally because you must lower your gaze based on the Qur'an

I have eye contact with men all throughout the day at work. If I am talking to them, it is impossible not to.

Most men I do not even find attractive. I am not thinking of them in that way and my eye contact means nothing.

I don't think that most men and women are constantly drooling after each other all of the time.

If some man has a problem looking at a woman then if he thinks that works, he should do it. But if a man can control himself so little that he can't even look into a woman's eyes, there is something wrong with him.

I give men more credit than that. I don't think they are all madly oversexed creatures that melt by looking into every women's eyes.

Most people are average looking anyone and don't drive everyone of the opposite sex wild.

I have seen Muslim women where I live, wearing eye makeup. Is that discouraging eye contact.

No, it is not Haram. Just lower the gaze and do not look at opposite sex in lust manner.

it's not haram, but you should avoid it by whatever means you have. It's somehow Makrooh

besides you should avoid staring and long glancing to opposite gender (it's not just about eye contact, but it means we shouldn't stare at any part of his/her body)

in this world, half of the other people are the opposite gender than yourself.. so as you walk down

a street, just for sheer security its ok to have a first glance for your safety to see who is coming

towards you. then you both should look away and not stare at the other..

Islam forbids inter mixing of sexes as it often results in fornication.

It depends on your intentions brother. If you intended to make an eye contact for a purpose as in staring or something then its definitely Haram. But if you did it unintentionally then its not haram. Allah is the greatest he will forgive if your intentions are pure. Rest is up-to you.

Hope that helps

For a split second as you are walking past each other? No.

Staring at each other and making love with your eyes? YES!
